Cean Cerny has been on staff with Covenant Life since 2002. She is married to Jim and has a daughter, Caitlyn. Cean grew up in Michigan and also lived in Illinois, where she received her bachelors degree in Special Education from Northeastern Illinois University and her masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Lewis University. Cean taught middle school in the Chicago area until moving here in 1998.

Joe hails from Nashville, TN. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. While at the university, Joe worked part-time in radio and also met his future wife, Jo. After graduation, he worked in television engineering for several years before moving into corporate engineering, retiring in 1998. He did volunteer work for churches for 12 years before starting to work here part-time in early 2005. In August of 2006 the production ministry was formed and Joe joined the staff full-time.

Beth was born in Bourbonnais, IL. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication, she pursued a job within a pharmaceutical company. Nearly seven years later, she felt God leading her out of the corporate world and into a full-time ministry role. She graduated from Wheaton College in 2006, with a Masters degree in Educational Ministries, and completed a Women’s Ministry internship at Wheaton Bible Church. Beth started working here in Feb. 2007.

Brandi grew up in southeaast Misouri and completed her education at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. She completed student ministry internships at Apex Community Church in Dayton OH. and Grace Church in St. Louis, MO. After relocating to Sarasota in July, 2008 she began serving Covenant life as Director of Women's Student Ministry, working primarily with female students.

Maurice lives in North Port and works at Covenant Life overseeing the classic and modern services. He plays the organ, piano, and occasionally bass guitar. Maurice has been working at Covenant Life since October, 2011, when he moved back to Florida from Rochester, NY. In Rochester he worked in church worship ministry for 10 years and got his Master's degree in Choral Conducting from the Eastman School of Music. Prior to moving to Rochester, Maurice earned a Bachelor of Music in Choral/General Music Education at the University of Florida, where he also received a Performer's Certificate in Piano. Maurice has two boys, Isaac and Timothy, and when he is not working at Covenant Life you can find him blogging, writing music or poetry, reading or working in masonry with his father's company, Fran Overholt, Inc.
