Is any pleasure on earth as great as a circle of Christian friends by a fire?

Isn’t it amazing that the more “connected” we are through email, telephone, text messaging, iPhones, Blackberries and the like, the more isolated we can become?  As cool as these emerging technologies are (and we admit it, they are cool), they don't replace people.

We are committed to small, home group ministry as the best way for people to live out our purpose statement which is to connect people to Christ, to one another, and to meaningful service. Small group gatherings, usually about 10-12 people, provide a place where individuals, couples and families can work out their Christian faith among friends.

Some groups meet weekly, some bi-weekly, and some monthly.  We have women’s, men’s, and mixed groups, and most are comprised of a range of ages, though a few cater to a designated age group.

So what do we do in these groups?  We share a great meal, laugh a lot, live and walk through life together, and hold each other together with the glue of love and friendship.  Hopefully, we help each other to be real, to learn what God’s word has to say and to apply it to our lives.  While there is some structure, small group gatherings are truly meant to provide a relaxed atmosphere where strong Christian friendships will grow so we can mutually encourage one another in our faith journey. Several groups also reach out in service and support for local and national missions.

Joining a Home Group is a wonderful way to get “connected”. Have you taken this important step? If not, simply contact Pastor Larry Edison.  He will be happy to guide you toward a group appropriate and convenient for you.
