Pray for our Men and Women in the Military This page was last updated on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 .
Calvin Horst's parents wrote the following as an introduction to this web page Larry, Ryan, and I would like to encourage those
who visit this portion of the church's website to pray for all the men
and women who are serving in the military - state side and overseas. Our
prayers should not only cover the service men and women, but also their
families. There are days and months family members at home
do not hear from their loved ones and it is during these times that our
faith is what helps us (the family at home) to continue day-to-day.
It is our heart-felt belief that during our daily
prayers, we should thank God for all the men and women who are protecting
our way of life and included in these daily prayers should be their families
at home.

After many years serving on a submarine, Calvin is now serving as a recruiter, and newly engaged to Heather Lyons (Chris and Bonnie Lyon's daughter). The Horsts write: "It is because of our strong faith that while difficult we know that God is watching over Calvin - but families who are not
as blessed as we are to
have this understanding, need our prayers. Therefore,
we would like to
encourage everyone who feels moved, to pray for
everyone involved in our
military - the men and women who are serving and their families at home."
